Why this test matters

The Madhya Pradesh CPCT certificate is valid for seven years and gates a wide range of state government posts, so getting the typing component right matters for the long term. Crucially, CPCT's scoring is more forgiving than SSC's: only your correct words count toward net WPM and incorrect words are ignored rather than penalised, which rewards a steady, accurate rhythm over reckless speed. Because the model is different, practising on an SSC-style penalty tool can mislead you in both directions. This simulator applies the CPCT correct-words method over the proper 15-minute window so you can calibrate to the real requirement.

How this test is scored

CPCT net WPM = number of correctly typed words ÷ minutes. Incorrect words are not counted and not penalised — there is no full/half-mistake deduction. You qualify by clearing the net-speed requirement (commonly 30 WPM English). Note that CPCT's backspace policy is reported inconsistently across sources; this simulator currently allows corrections — verify against the official MAP_IT/CPCT instruction.
