Every keyboard review online is for gamers. I want a switch that's good for typing 8 hours a day at 100+ WPM. Linear, tactile, or clicky? Light or heavy? I currently use a membrane keyboard at 95 WPM and want to know if mechanical will actually make me faster.
Best mechanical switch for fast typing (not gaming)?

Tactile, not linear. Linears (Reds, Yellows) are gaming-optimized because they're easy to spam, but you'll bottom out and get hand fatigue at typing speeds. Tactile switches (Browns, Holy Pandas, Boba U4Ts) give you a bump that signals actuation — your fingers learn the rhythm. Avoid clicky for office work unless you hate your coworkers.

Mechanical won't make you faster directly. It will make you less tired, which lets you practice more, which makes you faster. Get a decent tactile switch on a 60–65% layout and call it done.
